Mark's presentation: Beyond the Theory: Practical, real-life management of psychosocial risk at work.

Ryan's Presentation: “The evolution of early intervention”. He will discuss his personal experience working in this area for nearly 15 years, as well as provide tools and useful information for WHS and injury management professionals for organisations of all sizes.

Mark Oostergo
Mark began his career in the Australian Army, serving for nearly a decade as a Psychology Officer, where he provided psychological intervention both domestically and internationally, including with elite special forces. He concluded his military career as the commander of a health center, earning recognition for his leadership. Transitioning to industry, Mark worked extensively in human factors, workplace mental health, and executive leadership development, with a focus on tailored interventions for positive mental health. He has significant experience in conducting psychosocial risk assessments, particularly in remote and isolated locations, and led the design of mental health strategies for organizations like NSW Police and Emergency Services. Mark has collaborated with various sectors, including healthcare, sports, corporate, and government, aiming to improve well-being and performance in the workplace through practical psychology approaches.
Ryan Gilliman
Ryan has 15 years' experience as a Physiotherapist including working at over 30 onsite physiotherapy clinics. He has worked across a range of industries including as a fly in fly out Physiotherapist in the mining industry, aviation, manufacturing, transport and logistics, ports and wharves, construction, local and state government corporations. He has spent time as a work health safety advisor and lead for a national healthcare organization which he continues to provide occupational health services to now as a consultant.
