Managing road transport risk across contractors and supply chains

Webinar
Presented by Avetta

Event Overview:

The Australian Institute of Health & Safety invites you to our upcoming webinar, Managing road transport risk across contractors and supply chains presented by Avetta on 30 July 2026.

Road transport remains one of the leading causes of serious incidents and fatalities in Australian workplaces. Despite increasingly strong regulation, including HVNL, Chain of Responsibility, and WHS duties, many organisations continue to face high exposure across their supply chains.

For organisations relying on contractors and third-party carriers, managing road transport risk requires more than meeting legal requirements.

This webinar explores why compliance alone does not prevent incidents, and what leading organisations are doing differently.

Attendees will gain practical strategies for implementing critical controls across journey management, heavy vehicle safety, driver fatigue, and subcontractor oversight. We’ll also examine how contractor prequalification and digital assurance tools can provide greater visibility and confidence across complex supply networks—helping shift from reactive compliance to proactive risk management.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Why road transport remains a leading source of serious incidents and fatalities in Australian workplaces, particularly in contractor heavy environments.
  • How HVNL, Chain of Responsibility and WHS duties apply to PCBUs that rely on third party carriers and subcontractors.
  • Practical critical controls for journey management, heavy vehicle safety, subcontractor oversight and driver fatigue.
  • How contractor management prequalification tools can provide assurance.
