Emergency Management for Safety Professionals

Emergencies can affect any organisation - regardless of size, industry or location. When they occur, the consequences can extend far beyond the immediate incident, threatening people, property, the environment and the organisation's capacity to continue operating.

Effective emergency management is not simply a matter of having a plan on file; it requires sustained leadership commitment, integrated risk thinking, capable and trained people, and a culture that treats preparedness as an ongoing operational priority.

Developed based on the OHS BoK Chapter 36: Emergency Management, this course is for those who support emergency preparedness in their organisation, rather than specialist emergency managers.

Why This Course Is Different

Unlike traditional training, this is an adaptive learning course. That means:

  • The learning path automatically adjusts to your existing level of knowledge, so you skip what you already know and focus on what you need
  • You progress faster—cutting the time to competency significantly—while ensuring you master all key concepts and skills
  • Real-world examples and scenarios are safety specific, making learning immediately relevant

Whether you’re new to the principles of work design or looking to refresh advanced skills, you’ll get the exact learning experience you need—efficient, engaging, and targeted.
