Hiroko is currently employed as the HSEQ Lead - Northwest for Duratec Limited, where she oversees multiple mining construction projects within the Pilbara region.
After graduating from Curtin University (BSc - Health, Safety and Environment) in 2020, Hiroko began her safety career as a HSEQ graduate within one of Australia's major transport companies, implementing and overseeing vital safety functions.
Following this, in 2021, Hiroko commenced work with her current employer, Duratec Limited as a HSEQ Advisor. This position allowed her to demonstrate both the technical knowledge and interpersonal skills that are integral to safe working. Because of this, Hiroko was promoted to her current role in 2023, where she continues to be proactive and lead the safety initiatives in the division to reduce harm.
Hiroko joined the WA branch committee in 2021 with the intention of improving the networking and relationship-building opportunities for young health and safety professionals in Western Australia.
